Buy Dry Fruits Online in India This Diwali: Gift Ideas for Every Budget

Mewa Mitra Royal Dry Fruits Combo – Almonds, Cashews, Raisins & Pistachios – photo 1

Diwali is almost here, the house is half cleaned, and the gift list is still in your head. If you’d rather not spend the festival in traffic, you can buy dry fruits online and let the boxes arrive at your door. We’re Mewa Mitra, a family that has worked with cashews in Jaipur since 2003, and our shop sits inside a wholesale mandi. That means we’ve watched a lot of Diwali buying up close. This is what we’d tell a friend who asked us what to gift.

How to make Diwali a little differently

Our store is in the Rajdhani Krishi Upaj Anaj Mandi on Sikar Road, in Kukerkheda. If you’ve ever been inside a grain and dry fruit market in the weeks before a festival, you know the mood. Everybody is buying for somebody. Shopkeepers, families, caterers, office managers, all comparing and asking questions.

The question we hear in that kind of place is rarely “what’s the cheapest?” It’s usually “which one should I take for this person?” So that’s how we’ve organised this post. Not by product, but by who you’re buying for and what you actually want to happen when they open the box.

Start with the person, then pick the product

Write your list first. It takes five minutes and saves you from the last-minute panic buy.

People you’ll see in person. Close relatives, in-laws, the family next door. You can give something a bit more generous here, because you’ll watch them open it. A mixed box with almonds, cashews and pistachios is a safe bet since everybody at the table finds something they like.

Elders. For parents and grandparents, simple and familiar usually beats anything fancy. Almonds, walnuts and kesar kaju katli are comfortable choices.

Friends and neighbours. You don’t have to spend a lot. A seeds mix or a smaller pack says “thinking of you” just fine.

Colleagues. Most offices give everyone the same thing so nobody feels left out. Pick one combo and repeat it down the list.

Clients and business contacts. Presentation matters more here, and so does ordering in numbers. There’s a section on that further down.

The combo ladder

We build our four combos like steps on a ladder, so you can match the step to the person.

The Elite Combo is the first rung: a seeds mix with panchmewa, 250 g. It’s what we’d hand to colleagues and neighbours. The Classic Combo moves up to almonds, cashews and raisins, a good family box. The Signature Combo keeps the almonds and cashews but brings in pistachios instead of raisins. And the Royal Combo is the full set: almonds, cashews, raisins and pistachios together.

Prices change from time to time, so check them on our Diwali dry fruit gifts page or in the combo section.

Cashew grades, explained by people who sell them

Cashews are where we started, so this is the part we enjoy most. Our cashews come in four grades, and each has a name on the pack.

  • King Cashews, W180: our largest grade
  • Royal Cashews, W210
  • Classic Cashews, W240
  • Prime Cashews, W320

The “W” number is a count of whole kernels, so a smaller number means bigger, fuller cashews. If you’re giving cashews to someone and want them to look impressive when the box opens, the lower numbers are where to look. If you’re stocking up for your own kitchen, a middle grade like W240 is a comfortable everyday choice.

We also sell Kaju Split (2 pieces) in 500 g packs. These are split halves, so they won’t look as grand in a gift box, but they’re practical for cooking and sweet-making. If you’re buying cashews in large quantities for sweets or catering, our post on which cashew grade to use for which job goes into more detail. And if you’d like to see how grade affects price, there’s kaju price by grade.

Kaju katli, because somebody will ask

You can skip many things at Diwali, but not kaju katli. Ours comes in 400 g boxes in three versions: Kaju Katli, Silver Vark Kaju Katli and Kesar Kaju Katli. It’s made from cashews and has the soft, melt-in-the-mouth texture people remember from home.

The kesar one tends to suit elders, and the silver vark one looks lovely on a festive thali. And if the thought of making sweets at home on top of everything else is wearing you out, buying it ready-made is a small mercy.

Build a basket yourself

Maybe the person you’re gifting to loves pistachios and can’t stand raisins. Then build it from single packs. We sell Mamra Almonds, California Pistachio, Chilean Walnut Kernels and our graded cashews, all in 250 g packs. Put two or three in a basket with a diya and a handwritten note. It feels more personal than a ready hamper, and it might also take your cart past the free-shipping mark.

For the snackers: flavoured cashews and makhana

Not every gift needs to be traditional. For younger relatives and friends who snack through a cricket match, we make flavoured cashews in 100 g packs, in Magic Masala, Cheese and Chatpata Chat. There’s also roasted, flavoured makhana, including a Peri-Peri one.

They’re also useful once the guests arrive. When fifteen people are crowded into your living room, nobody wants to open five different bags. A bowl of flavoured cashews empties quickly.

Ordering for an office or a big family

Some people aren’t buying five boxes, they’re buying fifty, or five hundred. We pack corporate and bulk Diwali orders to your budget, and we give a GST invoice with them. You can read our post on corporate Diwali gifts and bulk hampers, or send an enquiry through the bulk order page.

One suggestion if you’re ordering for a company: fix the budget per box first, then the number of boxes, then the contents. Doing it in that order stops the list from ballooning. And allow more time than you think you need, because packing in volume takes longer than a single order.

Before you hit “order”

Order early. Couriers are busy in festival week, and we deliver to serviceable PIN codes across India.

Shipping is free on orders of ₹799 and above. New customers can use the code MEWAMITRA5 for 5% off the first order, and orders above ₹2,999 come with free flavoured cashews.

If something looks wrong when your parcel arrives, let us know within 48 hours. The full details are in our refund and returns policy.

If you’re in Jaipur, same-day delivery is possible in some areas. Contact us first so we can confirm yours.

Storing dry fruits once you’ve opened them

If you’ve bought extra for your own home, a few habits will help. Move opened dry fruits into an airtight container and keep it somewhere cool and dry, away from the stove and direct sun. Use a dry spoon every time, because moisture is the enemy. In humid weather, two small jars that you finish quickly are better than one big jar that you keep opening.

Quick questions

Is it okay to buy dry fruits online?
Yes, if the seller shows who they are. Look for an FSSAI number, a GSTIN, a real address and a returns policy you can read. You’ll find all of that on our site.

Which combo should I pick?
Depends who it’s for. Elite for casual gifts, Classic for family, Signature or Royal for someone special.

Which cashew grade is best for gifting?
If you want the cashews to look their best, go for a lower W number such as W180 (King). For everyday snacking, W240 is a sensible middle ground. For cooking and sweets, Kaju Split works well.

Can I send it to someone else’s address?
Yes. Add their address at checkout, as long as the PIN code is serviceable.

Do you do bulk orders?
We do. Use the bulk order page and we’ll take it from there.

Can I visit the store?
If you’re in Jaipur, yes. Our Experience Store is at Kukerkheda Mandi.
